Connecting to Energy with the Best Engineered Mounting and Racking Solutions
Countries and Solar
This week we have decided to take a look at solar energy production across the world, as well as within the United States. The world is currently making changes and many countries are now taking advantage of the possibilities that can be had by utilizing solar energy. The prices of utilities are cheaper with solar energy, and teaming this with the array of Government incentives, it is becoming a viable and attractive option for many people.
Despite all of the benefits, there are lots of countries that are still well behind on the solar front, but more and more are making progress. Part of the process of utilizing solar power is actually educating the public and creating a feeling of eco-friendliness within the community. In lots of the places where solar energy isn’t used, it is in fact due to lack of knowledge or awareness. Also, start up costs for home or business solar panels can initially seem high, but that is where the array of incentives, tax breaks and grants come into play.
Although generally a global leader on most fronts, you might be surprised to know that America is not in fact the leading country when it comes to producing solar energy. In 2012, America placed 5th in the world, preceded by Italy, Japan, Spain and Germany. This is surprising, especially when comparing the geographical size differences between these countries. The USA is still very much dependent on traditional resources, but leaps and bounds are being made in new green energy technology and everyday people are doing more and more to help take care of the environment.
With all of the positives aspects to using solar power, let’s hope that 2013 sees America reach number one!
